Academics
The curriculum of West
Los Angeles Baptist School is approved by the University
of California. It meets, and in many areas, exceeds
the University of California A-G Requirements. Students
are taught in a manner which prepares them for post-secondary
schoolwork at the University of California and other
private universities and colleges.

Kaplan Test Preparation and Admissions
WLAB School offers two free practice college entrance
exam workshops throughout the school year. In addition,
we offer our students an intensive 12-session test preparation
course titled “Kaplan at WLAB”. Taught by
Kaplan instructors, Kaplan offers a “higher score
guarantee”. If your student does not score higher
on the SAT, they will refund the cost of the course.

Community Service Requirement
WLAB students are also required to perform a minimum
of 40 hours of community service through FBCWLA or other
service organizations.
Academic Awards
Dean’s List: Students finishing
a school year with a 3.0–3.5 GPA will be placed
on the Dean’s List.
Principal’s List: Students maintaining
a GPA above 3.5 will be placed on the Principal’s
List.
Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Qualifications: A student must have
completed the last two years at WLAB. The GPA for the
valedictorian must be the overall highest in the class,
and must reflect all grades for the last four years.
The salutatorian must likewise have completed the last
2 years at WLAB, be the overall second highest in the
class, and must reflect all grades for the last four
years. In case of a tie dual awards will be given. Note
that certain non-academic classes may be excluded in
the calculations and some students may be declared ineligible
for these awards by the administration. |
