Admissions

Thank you for your interest in West Los Angeles Baptist School. We are currently not accepting applications for the 2008-2009 school year. West Los Angeles Baptist will be suspending operations after June 2008. The information you see below applies to our current year only. We are thankful to have been the part of the lives of so many families for the past 26 years.

Tuition/Fees

Tuition is set by the School Commission every December for the following year. The tuition for new students for the 2007-2008 school year is $8,500. In addition, there is a:
  • One-time application/enrollment fee of $400 for new students due upon application - $200 will be refunded if the student is not accepted

  • Registration fee of $200 due upon enrollment

  • Materials & Lab fee of $325 due September 1

  • Technology Fee of $325 due September 1

Tuition is due on the first of each month from September to June.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid is available for those who qualify and is awarded on a first come, first served basis. Please request a WLAB Scholarship Application from the school office.

Current Student Re-Enrollment

First re-enrollment period February 11, 2008 - April 4, 2008 $200 Registration fee
Second re-enrollment period April 7, 2008 - May 2, 2008 $300 Registration fee
Final re-enrollment period May 12, 2008 - September 2008 $400 Registration fee

PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION

(New Student)
STEP 1
Oct/Nov
LEARN ABOUT WEST LA BAPTIST SCHOOL
Carefully read the brochure and the information packet. We encourage you to attend
a scheduled Open House.
STEP 2
Dec/Jan
TAKE THE ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam)
You can take the ISEE at any local open testing location. Go on-line at www.erbtest.org to register.
STEP 3
By March 1

APPLY
Make an appointment for an interview and a tour of our campus by calling the school office. Both parents and the student should attend. Make sure to bring the following:

o Student Application
o WLAB Student Profile Agreement (signed by student)
o The most recent report card
o Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, pastor or a family friend
o ISEE results, if available
o Application for Financial Aid, if applicable
o Application/Enrollment $400

After reviewing the application material, the Admissions Committee will determine if your student is a good match for WLAB and will inform you of your position as soon as possible.
STEP 4
April

OFFICIALLY ENROLL AT WEST LA BAPTIST SCHOOL
Upon acceptance to WLAB…

a. Fill out the following forms:
    o Enrollment Contract
    o Parent’s Authorization for Release of School Records
    o Financial Aid Agreement, if applicable (Students not enrolled by     April 30 will forfeit their aid amount)
    o Registration Fee $200

After this is completed, you are officially enrolled at WLAB, and a space will be reserved for your student in September.

STEP 5
July/Aug

FOLLOW UP WITH NECESSARY FORMS
You will receive the following material…

a. Pupil Emergency Information Card
    • Fill this out and return it before September 1, 2007.
b. WLAB Parent Permission for Off Campus Lunch Privileges
    • This option is available for grades 9-12 only.
c. WLAB School Handbook
    • Please read it carefully and be prepared to refer to it throughout the     years.
d. Parent Association Information
    • Dues, Directory, Volunteer Sign-up
STEP 6
Aug
ORDER TEXTBOOKS
Your student’s book list will be available on-line at www.varsitybooks.com. Families needing assistance in this area may come to campus the last week of August to meet with the Varsity Books representative and place your order using school computers. Date and time to be announced.
STEP 7
PAY FEES BY SEPTEMBER 1, 2008
