Excellence Fund
For over 25 years, West
Los Angeles Baptist School has been blessed with the
privilege of being a part of the lives of hundreds of
young people and their families. As we look toward the
future, we see that Christian education is more important
today than it has ever been.
West Los Angeles Baptist School is the only accredited
Christian junior/senior high school out of 300 private
schools in the West Los Angeles area. We wish to ensure
this tradition of excellence continues to flourish for
generations to come.
It is with this reason in mind that we have established
an Excellence Fund. The undesignated nature of the fund
allows those entrusted with the school’s financial
needs to direct resources into areas of highest interest;
allowing us to pursue excellence in all we do. Some
of those areas include teacher salaries, athletics,
technology, extra-curricular activities, scholarships,
facility enhancements and curriculum development. You’re
contribution to this fund is essential to moving our
school to the next level.
What about tuition and existing fundraisers?
Full tuition represents only approximately 73 percent
of school expenses. Established fundraisers cover four
percent of the expenses. Previous estimates show that
it costs about $8,331 to educate one student per year.
This amount is even higher now. The annual support from
parents, alumni, grandparents, and those interested in
seeing Christian education sustained in West Los Angeles
is critical to bridging the gaps unfulfilled by tuition
alone. In order to keep tuition equitable while building
an unparalleled educational experience, we are asking
those interested in seeing Christian education flourish
on the Westside consider a donation. Each tax deductible
donation will be applied toward budget revenue.

How can I give to the fund?

- Credit Cards
- Gift of Securities – Instead of selling stock
that has appreciated over the years, consider avoiding
large capital gains taxes by contributing the stock
to WLAB.
- Memorial Gifts – Each year, WLAB receives
gifts in memory of classmates, teachers, family and
friends.
